Pitch at the Palace

In mid-January, we were delighted to receive a ‘special invitation’ to attend the Pitch@Palace Tour in Cheltenham. We presented our thoughts on ‘Data, Intelligence, and The Future of Security’.

In particular, we discussed how this topic relates to Cloud based services such as those delivered by W2. The assembled audience included entrepreneurs, innovation specialists and HRH The Duke of York.

Security challenges

The “Pitch@Palace” initiative is a partnership with GCHQ’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). It aims to accelerate innovation entrepreneurs and early stage businesses. The program enables technical innovators with high growth potential to present their business solutions to a highly select audience of investors, influencers, local supporters and potential business partners. There is also an opportunity to ask questions of other presenters to gain insight and develop new business relationships.

W2 CEO Warren Russell spoke on the challenges of managing an award winning, cloud based KYC, AML and Identity Verification platform. This platform is currently performing in excess of 100 million ID checks every month.

Warren explained the range of security measures that we put in place to protect our client’s data. We’re continually looking to enhance our technologies and solutions so that both W2 and our clients comply with very latest government legislation including the Digital Economy Act as well as the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) deadline in May 2018.

A select few chosen to present

Pitch@Palace is a hugely exclusive program. Of 24,600 applications, only 2,014 have been invited to present. Gary Pine, W2 Chief Product Officer said:

We are delighted to have been invited to this prestigious event, and to be part of an initiative that has helped over 490 businesses grow with many now enjoying global success. W2 Global Data continues to see significant and rapid growth, and to be introduced to such an exclusive audience has presented many great opportunities for us in terms of the insights shared, conversations had and new friendships formed.
