Best Holiday
I’m a fan of putting the backpack on and going to visit places a bit further afield so I have to say Sri Lanka was my favourite holiday. 3 weeks experiencing a mix of city life playing cricket with locals in the street, tea plantations, mountain hiking and beach life, Sri Lanka has a unique culture and something for everyone, would highly recommend a visit. Closer to home I love nothing better than a weekend away doing a bit of hiking/trail running in the Lake District, Snowdonia Region or Pembrokeshire Coast.
Best Album
I prefer to listen to the radio/Spotify over watching TV and have an eclectic taste in music with Kasabian, Foals, Wolf Alice, Kings of Leon, Bruce Springsteen and Johnny Cash just a small selection of my favourites. I recall listening to albums such as REM, Monster and Alanis Morissette, Jagged Little Pill as I was growing up, but I’d have to go with Kings of Leon, Because of the Times as my favourite, every song on there is a great track.
Best Sporting Experience
As someone who enjoys to run it’s always nice to look back to when I first started getting into the sport. A group of me and some friends made a pact over a beer or two to run the Snowdonia Marathon in 2012 for a bit of laugh. I’m thankful that I was one of the only two to end up running it as it was something I had never imagined even attempting, but has had a positive effect to my health and general wellbeing!
Best Film
True Romance is my absolute favourite, a great story and cast, many of who went on to do even better things. I was lucky enough to see it on the cinema screen for the first time last year which was a 2018 highlight.
Best Book
I’m not a big reader of fiction so I generally stick to auto-biographies and graphic novels. If I had to pick my favourite it would have to be John Peel’s autobiography, A Life in Music, I’m due another read of it!
Best App
As mentioned earlier I’m a big music fan so Spotify is being used for most of the time each day. From a ‘pass the time’ perspective I’m currently hooked on ‘Score! Hero’ which is my go-to app game when I need a little time out.
