W2, leading provider for global regulatory compliance software has today announced a reduction in working hours for employees. After changing all contracts to remote based and allowing fully flexible working hours in 2021, the new initiative follows a number of other companies within the UK who are placing focus on employee wellbeing which has been impacted since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020 and the change to working from home.
Warren Russell, CEO & Founder of W2 commented โIโm absolutely delighted to be announcing the reduced working hours benefit for the W2 team. It is truly a testament to the hard work and commitment of the whole team that has led to the making this decision. Our focus on the wellbeing of our employees and ensuring that they have the time needed to rest and relax away from the busy day to day working environment at W2 is a key goal of ours and this is just one of the many ways we are working towards achieving that.โ
W2 ran a trial of the new working hours, which includes a 1pm finish on a Friday, for three months to analyse how motivation and productivity would be impacted. The results from the trial proved that streamlining processes and the implementation of agile working can lead to just as much, if not more output of high-quality work despite a reduction in working hours during the week.
